August prices

I’m concentrating on these four companies at the moment just to give us a rough guide. It’s proving difficult with the larger companies as they ask so many questions with regard to personal consumer situations, however I will keep plugging away!

CallowGas (based in Droitwich) current price (31/8/2011) is 44p per litre for domestic bulk users. We have a consortium of 14 households in our village with a common price to all

For information – 16th September. I have just ordered LPG from Flogas at 50.5 pence per litre. This is due to rise to 58.5 pence per litre from the 1st October.

For further info: SHELL tell me they will consider changing their price per litre (currently 56p) if I can find a cheaper supplier – so I intend to do this and go back to Shell to see if I can get a reduction.

Has anyone else successfully done this?

PS. In Devon I appear to only have a choice of 3 suppliers: Shell, Flogas or Calor. If anyone knows of others please let us all know.

      Hi Karen,
41 ppl is pretty good at the moment, is this a fixed rate? I suspect you maybe hard pushed to find a better rate.

We’ve just had a letter from BP Gas telling us that they have put up prices with immediate effect from 67.45ppl to 72.95ppl, plus VAT. They have included a wonderful offer, whereby if we sign a two-year contract, they guarantee not to put up prices by more than 2.5ppl every six months “unless a greater increase is justified”. In other words: “Sign up with us for two years and we’ll carry on putting up the prices whenever we like.”
I’m not sure what sort of idiots they assume their customers are, but I’ve had enough.
I’ve just contacted another supplier who has offered 44.4ppl, guaranteed for nine months, and who tells me that nobody in our postcode area is paying more than 49.8ppl.
I feel BP Gas has been ripping me off for years.
