April Price Comparison

April 8th, 2010

Checking on various Forums its seems apparent that prices vary according to what you can negotiate. If you do not negotiate you will get stung, there is no question about this.

The following is based on the lowest prices I have found for this month 04/2010.

Calor - 38.5 ppl + VAT

Flo Gas – 56 ppl + VAT

BP – 34 ppl + VAT

Countrywide – 34 ppl + VAT

ExtraFuels – 41.06 ppl + VAT

Shell – 35 ppl + VAT

Remember there is also tank charges/rental.

Ok -so who can beat the prices of BP and Countrywide?

Interestingly I have received a letter from Calor who have offered me a £100 credit to sign up for another 2 years.

Current supplier of 47KG LPG FLOGAS.The following are recent price increases.
    Oct 2010 £43.23
    Dec 2010 £47.07
    Dec 30th £51.45
Jan 13th 2011 £58.45 notified today. There doesn’t appear to be any competition for this type of energy, these increases from Flogas are obscene when one bottle during December only lasted one week.Who can consumers put a complaint to.

I live in SY23 area of Ceredigion and my contract is up for renewal. I rang the three companies – Flogas, Cambrian Gas and Calor that service this area and they are all the same, around 49.9 per litre is a cartel operating here? BP do service this area but they wanted 59.9per litre as they do not have a lot of customers out here, won’t get any more business at that price!! Hence me wondering if this Area is fixed between the companies? I took your advice as Calor offered £50.00 and asked for more and got it £50. extra so total £100. staged over two years. We need more regulation over the LPG industry so that we are not penalised for not having mains gas. My usage two years ago was less as it was cheaper to use the electric, as I was on a price fix with the electricity at that time.
