Have some LPG Suppliers Lost the Plot?
I seem to have woken up today in a dream world!
While all the major energy suppliers are reducing their prices (see previous post), one LPG supplier seems to have a different idea.
I received a letter today from Countrywide informing me; “Prolonged economic uncertainty and the Euro region crisis combined to have an effect on the price of LPG. After a period of relative stability the propane market has turned adversely in the last month or so, and we are faced with an immediate price increase. Your individual increase will be 3.5p per litre.”
Has anybody else received price increases from their suppliers?
Countrywide cannot be the only supplier to do this as they normally hunt in packs!
I will be trying to find out further details from Countrywide as to why they have decided to do this. In the meantime please let me know if you have received a letter from your supplier.
Regards
( A very disappointed) Dickie
A further update:
I have written to Countrywide asking for further details as to why they have raised their prices, I will let you know the outcome as soon as I have a reply.
Hi,
Yes just had the same letter from Countrywide this morning!
With Gas companies reducing costs after the exorbitant increase from the last quarter of 2011, how can Countrywide validate this increase?
Is there another supplier that is cheaper out there?
Regards
Paul
Hi Paul,
Take a look at my page with LPG suppliers.
Regards
Dickie
We received the same email and are just as surprised as you. We also find it impossible to compare prices.
Hi Vic,
Take a look on my suppliers page, there should be some prices to compare with.
Regards
Dickie
@Paul Isaacs
How much are you paying – I am being quoted £0.40ppl
Hi John, thats a good price in the current climate, who’s that with?
Regards – Dickie
we are thinking of swapping to countrywide from flogas have you any coments or advice to give we are paying 56ppl at present but have been quoted 42ppl from countrywide
Marilyn, 42ppl is a good price at the moment;
Two things, make sure the 3.5ppl price rise from last week isn’t going to suddenly appear and make sure you get get this 42ppl for as long as you can.
regards – Dickie
Last January 2011 I was left with no gas for nearly three weeks by Countrywide (adverse weather prevented delivery) I was furious and threatened to leave them. The result was a negotiated lower price of 47 ppl. The price has crept back up to 56ppl thanks to the latest letter received. I’ve been loyal to Countrywide for more than 15 years but now start to wonder who is financing 42 ppl being offered to new customers. Very glad that users are finally posting prices. We must somehow expose the multi level tariffs that these suppliers are using. Knowledge is power – allowing us all to make informed choices.
