Syndicate Information Required
It’s obvious to me as I read through the posts that readers are queuing up looking for syndicates all over the UK, whether they are having success I just don’t know. So to help all our followers if you know of a syndicate please tell us. This way the information can be passed on and in the end the bigger the syndicate the more clout you have when it comes to prices. So please send us any information with regard to operating syndicates and more importantly how you are getting on with negotiating a price with the selected LPG supplier. It would be nice if we could produce a syndicate list so that readers could easily locate one within their area. I’ve decided to set up a separate page so that people can advertise their existing syndicate or an interest in forming one so that people can increase numbers in syndicates and give themselves increased negotiating power. Hopefully this will be set up in the next few days.
I see once again Flogas is in the process of notifying customers of their new winter prices, please let us know details so that everyone is aware of what to expect and how hopefully we can provide advice to those who have a ridiculous price increase.
Now is the time most customer will receive a letter from their suppliers informing them of price increases. The more we know about this the more we can compare and argue our case for fairer prices across the board.
I look forward to hearing your comments.
Best Regards
Dickie

Trying to form a syndicate on an estate in SA19. Don’t want to give more details on an open forum. Any hints?
Just moved to a house with lpg tank – is there a syndicate in Berkshire or Surrey please?
I have just been advised by flogas an increase of 6p per litre from 1st October then fixed till 31st March 2012.In feb 2011 I was paying 38p.p.l. in april it increased by 8p to 46ppl and in october it will be 52ppl. In 8 months a 36% rise. I have been advised that I could renegotiate this price when my contract is up for renewal in November2011. hope this info helps, david.
How do i find a syndicate in the nottinghamshire are?
Can anyone give me advise as im thinking of installing LPG into a property
Thanks for you note David.
Your 52ppl is the lowest so far that I have heard from Flogas. Obviously once your contract is finished check all the LPG suppliers you can, try to go for the longest fixed term price you can get and remember even if you are quoted a low price always haggle; If you don’t haggle you’ll never know how low you could have go them to go!
FYI The lowest price I have seen is 47.4 PPL with Carver Gas ( http://www.carvergases.co.uk/ )
Good Luck & Regards
Dickie
Can anyone in the Nottinghamshire area please help Andrew?
Andrew see my post on tank installation, there are also other useful guides within the site.
Many thanks
Dickie
Just come off the phone from FLOGAS. In Feb it was 53.50, April it went up to 60.00 (though I was not informed) and from 1 Oct 68.00.
The price increases seem to be how much you can intimidate the customer rather than a reflection of the actual cost and delivery cost.
I am in the Cardiff area.

Hi how many customers form an effective syndicate, there are three of us locally but we are not all with same supplier?
Hi Richard,
Three is better than one. Why not contact each supplier or even new suppliers and say you’re with three separate suppliers (or whatever), and that you want to try see if can get a better deal with one supplier for the three of you, obviously you need to bear in mind if there are any penalties to get out of your existing contracts and consider in the long term whether its still worth your while.
Best of luck
Dickie
Two, eight pence price hikes since April and unlike an earlier comment no promise to hold that price till March 2012, I think FLOGAS can afford to be “the friendly LPG supplier” at our expence. This whole energy price
thing is a media lead merry-go-round which has given the green light to the energy companys to charge what they wish. Thank God the P.M. cut three pence off the price of petrol, what a joke! Quite apart from forming Syndicates I think it would be better to boycott certain companys on block, but being an impractical idea a return to the wood burner could be on the cards.
Went round all the village and got 22 people with Flogas who were interested in forming a syndicate. Telephoned Flogas and was told they do not negotiate with groups/syndicates now only individuals. Has anybody else had this problem?
Hello Patricia, This is the first I’ve heard of this, did they give you a reason why?
May be worth calling them up and reminding them about The BBC programme “Don’t get done get Dom”, an investigative documentary about Flogas and the Village of Winkleigh in Devon. In short the village Flogas users came together to form a syndicate because of the price difference they were all receiving from Flogas. We can certainly contact the producer of the programme as I’m sure it would be of an interest to the BBC.
Please keep this site updated, I would interested to find out why Flogas is doing this and perhaps we could put pressure on them.
Nothing worse than some bad PR for a supplier!
Hi, I agree that forming a cyndicate is a great way of fighting back with buying power. But where I live Calor Gas has the total monopoly to supply our gas in 47kg bottles. There is no alternative for us but to continue being ripped off with price increases, 4 times in the last 12 months, which equates to another £20 per month increase, and I am a very frugal user. I dread how much it will cost when I put in my next order for 2 bottles.
We need representation in government to stop this monopoly.
keep up the good work Dickie
Hi, I’m looking to join a syndicate in GL7 area if there is one ?? If not can u recomemmend reliable suppliers so we wont be left without gas again.
Hi Charlotte, who are you currently with? – regards Dickie
